New Tecumseth is growing quickly. What does "smart growth" mean to you in practice - more density, more sprawl, or something else?
Chris Rapin's answer
Growth is inevitable. So let's do it right. Vertical, or dense growth has several positives such as more affordable homes, new transit opportunities and a influx of services to best serve this concentration of residents. We would also be able to withstand the growth demands on our agricultural lands far into the future.
I still remember when New Tecumseth was deemed big enough for a Swiss Chalet! Then and East Side Marios!! Yes I'm a bit motivated by food but when the Walmart got here I think residents were just as excited!
Growth that involves sprawl spreads out our services which will cost the town more to maintain.
Just trying to get a quick answer in here so that we can see how effective PODIUM is. Thanks for putting this together Felix.
I'm always open to discussion.
